Nike Foamposite Technology

Introduction

Hello everyone, I'm delighted to return once more to one our favorite sneakers, the Foamposite One.

Without a doubt this is one of the most durable sneakers in the world, if not the most durable one.

Reason being the materials that this shoe is made from, that's what we're here for, to break them down and understand what makes this shoe so durable without suffering any drawbacks in comfort.

So, what is Foamposite?

Short story? It's foam, it's in the name. *cough* *cough*

Alright jokes aside.

Foamposite was specifically created for the Foamposite One sneaker, that explains how the sneaker was named but doesn't explain what it does and how it's made. We'll get to that right now so don't worry.

Let's take a leap back to 1997, Spice Girls, Titanic, Friends series, First Harry Potter book... Oh wait that's not what we're here for..

1997 was famous for many things, but in sneaker world, it gave life to Foamposite, it was first introduced with the Nike Air Foamposite One

Now how did it come to life?

You must understand that Nike is not single handedly responsible for giving life to Foamposite, in fact they were struggling with this one for quite a while.

They attempted to collaborate with a great deal of companies with the Foamposite concept but with little to no success.

That was until they started collaborating with Daewoo. For those of you that don't know that brand I don't blame you, if my parents did not own a Daewoo TV when I was 5 I would not know either.

Daewoo is a  brand that made TV's and Cars and other electronics but unfortunately it went out of business in 1999. Rest in peace and you have our respect for breathing life to Foamposite.

History time is over, to answer the question above. What is Foamposite.

Foamposite is in fact a synthetic material. It starts off as polyurethane liquid and it is molded into the durable materials that we know nowdays as Foamposite.

How is it made?

Just like it is stated on the above, it starts off as polyurethane liquid, it is heated  between 60°C and 85°C, and then it is molded, cooled, and solidified. The idea of this technology is to mold on the wearers foot so the shoe fits and adapts on the wearers foot.

Nike started this project with Foamposite One and later it was used on wide range of sneakers, and not only, Nike also merged this Technology with others and created some amazing technologies that deserve their own review in this section, one of them being Hyperposite featured on Lebron XIII.

Bottom Line

So, we've reached the end...

Nike Foamposite technology is indeed one of the best in the world. The insane durability and the amazing comfort that it offers to the wearers is something that you simply cannot compete with. It's a simple technology as you can see on the above so not much can be added to this post.

Anyhow.

Like always, it was a great deal of fun researching this technology, my only wish is that you experience at least half the fun I had while reading it.

That'll be all for now. As always, thank you guys for your time, and until next time, see ya!
