Adidas Harden Vol. 3

Statistics

*Please take these numbers with a grain of salt as these are stats that I came up with from my experience, it doesn't mean that you shall have the same results*

Summary

Traction

Hello and welcome to yet another review of our MVP, James Harden. Starting off with the traction pattern, I'm proud to say that it features my personal favorite traction pattern, herringbone, and as you know, one can never go wrong on herringbone.

The herringbone traction is amazing, I've played a great deal on outdoor courts with them, and they work fantastically well, I played with stable traction for about 20-25 minutes without the need of wiping. On the other hand, on indoor courts the bite was so strong I thought I dislocated my hip joint.

Cushion

The cushion features the one and only, the Adidas Boost Technology, as most of you who've been following my reviews constantly know, I adore Boost. It's one of the best cushions that features maximal impact absorption, and as you know, Harden Vol. 3 has a ton of it, there is a cost though, the massive impact protection sacrifices the responsiveness and court feel that fast guards require.

Materials

The third sneaker on the Harden line features a flyknit upper, Adidas went right on this one as the materials are pretty lightweight and pretty durable on top of that, it does match Harden's play-style to the point as it gives you a lot of flexibility on lateral movement and guarding, and it has the durability required to score under the hoop against big guys.

Support

The third shoe of our young MVP's franchise offers quite the amount of support even though it lacks a high top. The support comes from the wide sole base and the boost being contained laterally. So far playing with these bad boys was a great experience, the injuries on the ankle are minimal to none, but this does not mean that it will be the same for all of you, different of wearers have different sizes and weights, proceed with caution as you are predisposed to ankle rolls.

Fit

Alright from what I noticed, the break-in period for this sneaker was about two weeks long, give or take depending on how much you use them. After the break in period the shoe will stretch and have a true one:one fit.

Pros and Cons

  • Short break in period
  • Excellent Herringbone traction
  • Amazing cushion, Boost-Tech
  • Optimal support
  • Breathtaking colorways
  • Premium Materials

Bottom Line

What more can I add, the third sneaker of the James Harden line is simply flawless, a shoe can't have everything, just like this one doesn't, but despite that fact, the Vol .3 is a work of art. A masterpiece. I personally love it and I strongly encourage you guys to try it out. The shoe comes on a retail price of 140$ and it's worth every penny.

Adidas Harden Vol. 2

Statistics

*Please take these numbers with a grain of salt as these are stats that I came up with from my experience, it doesn't mean that you shall have the same results*

Summary

I've been waiting to write a review for the second sneaker on Harden's franchise. Adidas Harden Vol. 2 features so many things that we know and love from the first one and added a couple of more things that really stepped up the game.

Starting with the Boost cushion which is one of the most amazing things Adidas gave to the world, in comparison to Adidas Harden Vol. 1, it is way thicker offering a staggering amount of impact protection, while losing no responsiveness at all. It is the perfect shoe for fast guards, while at the same time it works perfectly fine for big guys who need the impact protection.

Adidas Harden Vol. 2 kept the same traction pattern that it's predecessor gave us but I couldn't fail to notice a huge difference. I had to wipe my shoes constantly on a dusty floor to prevent "skiing" through the court. Now don't be too harsh on it because of that fact, that's only on dusty floors, and once you wipe them you're good to go.
Few more things to know about the traction is that it is specifically designed for James Harden's play-style, he did mention on an interview that he puts the most pressure on his foot around the area that has the most clusters.
One more thing to take note of would be that the traction is pretty shallow, don't use it for outdoor basketball else they wont last long just like my pairs didn't.

The shoe is true to size, so I recommend sticking to the Adidas size chart, I'm warning you that it will fill a bit narrow on the mid-foot area due to the presence of an elastic band over there, but that wont last long, as soon as they break in you're good to go.

While the shoe materials are not premium they are still doing an excellent job providing us great feel and comfort. They are made of Adidas Neoprene and Mesh Bootie, provides a great amount flexibility and support.

Pros and Cons

  • Best cushion in the industry (Boost)
  • Very comfortable upper
  • Great colorways
  • True to size
  • Wide mid-sole base gives plenty of support
  • Great lacing system that can be customized

     -

  • Traction suffers on dusty floors

Bottom Line

Nothing else can be added at this point, the shoe performs amazingly, I strongly suggest it for fast guards, and I definitely suggest it for bigger guys who need impact protection.
I know a great deal of people who are disappointed from the second release on the Harden signature franchise, but to be frank, this shoe outperforms the first model in every aspect apart from traction.

The retail price for this shoe is 139.99$ giving off great value for money.

So, bottom line? Buy it.

Adidas Haden Vol. 1

Statistics

*Please take these numbers with a grain of salt as these are stats that I came up with from my experience, it doesn't mean that you shall have the same results*

Summary

We've reached another superstar shoe folks, It'll be my honor to review James Harden's signature hoopers, now I'm delighted to say that these shoes excel at everything, the traction is simply fantastic, it offers great bite making lateral movements easier as well. It's great for fast guards, but to be frank it's designed for Harden's unique play-style.

The cushion is the Boost Technology that we all know and love, and full length on top of that. It offers maximal impact protection without sacrificing responsiveness.

This shoe is made of premium materials, but it all differs from one colorway to another, but all of them offer maximum comfort and breathability.

For a low top shoe Harden Vol. 1 offers great ankle support, all in all it's a great shoe as you can see, it only lacks on fit part, it's great for wide footers, but if you have a narrow foot then you might want to go down half a size. One other thing that Harden Vol 1. lacks at is the abnormal long break in time.

Pros and Cons

  • Full length Boost
  • Comfort
  • Premium Materials
  • Excellent and unique traction
  • Amazing colorways

     -

  • Long break in time
  • Fit - Narrow footers go down half a size
  • Short laces, they get untied easily

Shoe Facts

Top - Low
James Harden
Price - 139.99$
  Weight - 427g

Bottom Line

As stated above, it's a great shoe all in all, the first of the Harden franchise, and it was done right on top of that. It only has a few minor setbacks which can easily be overcome. Do you want to spend your well earned money on this bad boy? The answer to that question is a big yes.

Adidas D. Rose 6

Statistics

*Please take these numbers with a grain of salt as these are stats that I came up with from my experience, it doesn't mean that you shall have the same results*

Summary

All in all, Adidas D. Rose 6 is an amazing shoe, the full length Boost cushion offers maximum impact protection, the shoe is made of premium materials, featuring mesh on some colorways and synthetic leather on others, both are amazing and comfortable so I cannot suggest one out of the two. The shoe is true to the size with a perfect 1:1 fit.

With the mid tops the shoe should not have any issues offering optimal support but due to the inner padding having extra cushion, and of course the boost technology, that causes some ankle rolls.

Lastly for the traction, Adidas went right on this just like it did on all the previous models of the D. Rose series, it works great and has an excellent bite and it will take quite a long time before you start seeing signs of tear.

Pros and Cons

  • Amazing Cushion with great impact protection due to the full length Boost
  • Quick break in period
  • Perfect 1:1 Fit
  • Excellent and durable traction
  • Premium Materials, Mesh and Synthetic Leather

     -

  • Ankle rolls reported due to extra cushion

Shoe Facts

Top - Mid
Derrick Rose
Price - 140$
  Weight - 428g

Bottom Line

The 6th model of the D. Rose series is a marvelous shoe, one of the best of the series without a doubt, perfect fit, excellent cushion, premium mats, amazing traction and a fair retail price of 140$. All these factors combined make Adidas D. Rose 6 an unbeatable asset in today's shoe industry.
