Adidas Harden Vol. 2

Statistics

*Please take these numbers with a grain of salt as these are stats that I came up with from my experience, it doesn't mean that you shall have the same results*

Summary

I've been waiting to write a review for the second sneaker on Harden's franchise. Adidas Harden Vol. 2 features so many things that we know and love from the first one and added a couple of more things that really stepped up the game.

Starting with the Boost cushion which is one of the most amazing things Adidas gave to the world, in comparison to Adidas Harden Vol. 1, it is way thicker offering a staggering amount of impact protection, while losing no responsiveness at all. It is the perfect shoe for fast guards, while at the same time it works perfectly fine for big guys who need the impact protection.

Adidas Harden Vol. 2 kept the same traction pattern that it's predecessor gave us but I couldn't fail to notice a huge difference. I had to wipe my shoes constantly on a dusty floor to prevent "skiing" through the court. Now don't be too harsh on it because of that fact, that's only on dusty floors, and once you wipe them you're good to go.
Few more things to know about the traction is that it is specifically designed for James Harden's play-style, he did mention on an interview that he puts the most pressure on his foot around the area that has the most clusters.
One more thing to take note of would be that the traction is pretty shallow, don't use it for outdoor basketball else they wont last long just like my pairs didn't.

The shoe is true to size, so I recommend sticking to the Adidas size chart, I'm warning you that it will fill a bit narrow on the mid-foot area due to the presence of an elastic band over there, but that wont last long, as soon as they break in you're good to go.

While the shoe materials are not premium they are still doing an excellent job providing us great feel and comfort. They are made of Adidas Neoprene and Mesh Bootie, provides a great amount flexibility and support.

Pros and Cons

  • Best cushion in the industry (Boost)
  • Very comfortable upper
  • Great colorways
  • True to size
  • Wide mid-sole base gives plenty of support
  • Great lacing system that can be customized

     -

  • Traction suffers on dusty floors

Bottom Line

Nothing else can be added at this point, the shoe performs amazingly, I strongly suggest it for fast guards, and I definitely suggest it for bigger guys who need impact protection.
I know a great deal of people who are disappointed from the second release on the Harden signature franchise, but to be frank, this shoe outperforms the first model in every aspect apart from traction.

The retail price for this shoe is 139.99$ giving off great value for money.

So, bottom line? Buy it.

That'll be all for now. As always, thank you guys for your time, and until next time, see ya!
