Nike Hyperdunk 2012

Statistics

*Please take these numbers with a grain of salt as these are stats that I came up with from my experience, it doesn't mean that you shall have the same results*

Summary

Alright let's dive into this. I've worn this shoe for a very, very long time and I've got a couple of things to say, now I'm that sort of player who's all about cushion and while I do enjoy the cushion Lunarlon tech provides and I do appreciate the fact that it distributes the impact so well on the foam, I can say for sure that it doesn't last long, after a long while the Lunarlon starts to bottom out and it'll give you an awful uneven feeling on your mid-foot as the middle of the shoe is made of a more dense phylon. I know that a great deal of you guys love the Lunarlon technology, but I will call it a con in this instance.

The upper part of the shoe is made of rubber and flywire cables, it works pretty great as the shoe is pretty durable and still comfortable.

The traction is well made with a circular pattern going on all directions supporting lateral movements as well, it's made of pretty a pretty durable rubber material, I used these for a very long time and I can see barely any signs of wear.

Now this model does not offer the amazing fit that it's predecessor did but as they run a bit narrow on the forefoot, wide footers I do suggest you to try them on before you purchase these, and if you're ordering them online I do suggest to go up half a size. Length wise they are true to fit.

Compared to the it's predecessor the shoe is a bit lower to the ground due to it's wider base and it offers a great amount of support, so in this part it outperforms the 2011 model.

Pros and Cons

  • Lightweight materials
  • Amazing multi-directional traction
  • Perfect support due to shoe width and high tops

     -

  • Lunarlon cushion
  • Narrow size, wide footers go up half a size

Bottom Line

So after all we discussed there are plenty of things that could be done better on this shoe, starting with the cushion, I do understand that Nike is focusing on the main signature franchises and that this is a budget shoe, but in my opinion they could've done a great deal of stuff better, you will understand when you meet the successors of the 2012 model. Now, the big question of course, do you want to spend 120$ on this shoe? I will go with a solid no, only for a few dollars more you can get a better deal from the Nike signature franchises.

That'll be all for now. As always, thank you guys for your time, and until next time, see ya!
